Mailings call for more action

I hear over and over again that consistent marketing is key to survival in this business. Over 95% of all note brokerage businesses die because of lack of it. This is in disregard of the 90%+ of all small businesses dying already.

Without marketing, news and facts can be missed. I have recently discovered this phenomena in the bible. Follow me:

Who was the best King in all the Old Testament? I would be hard pressed to find someone with an answer other than David or Solomon. But recently I found out different.

Josiah, king of Judah, was a better king than David and Solomon (2 Kings 23:25).  All kings after David were compared to him because he followed the Lord with all his heart; measured by faith, not wealth.  In this regard, Josiah was the best king. But I did not know this because most of the bible “markets” David.

How does this apply to the note business? Simple. My company could (I don’t believe this currently) be the best in the city, county or even state- but if I don’t get the word out, my competition could be rolling in more deals than me!

But marketing can get boring.

So I read books (even ones not written by note professionals) on marketing. See what techniques I can implement. It is also good to stay updated on new ways of reaching prospects and the current market. Note investors are not copywriters and marketing gurus for a reason; get to the people who know. Anything I can find on marketing I grab. From reading books in Borders, surfing the web, dusting off old manuals, and signing up for newsletters, I do it all.

More importantly I rely on the Father for the progression of The Note Firm. He controls all and I can do nothing without Him. As the train of redundacy chugs on, I am reminded…

“How much better is it to get wison than gold, to choose understanding rather than silver!” Pro. 16:16

  • hey, czarina, i am the quote, guy from calif. you talked to, unquote. yes, i remember your phone call very well. i took a lot of notes. it was real nice to chat with you that day. and now look at you, what with this blog and everything. i am excited for you. i had been thinking of doing the same thing and now you have given me the incentive to follow through on this. and that is the fact that i am going to do what i always wanted to do and send out my letters but keep the contact names and numbers with me and then about two or three days later call them up and ask them if they had received their material i had sent them. see, if you hadn’t started it, i would just be dreaming about doing it. so thanks for that bit of encouragement.
